Cereals – how abundant they are! Dry or cooked, they are the mainstay of breakfasts the world over. They are primarily derived from corn, oats and wheat, but there are plenty of others to choose from, such as those made from barley, buckwheat, chia seeds, garbanzo beans, hemp seeds, kashi(K 7 Whole Grain Nuggets), especially rye, spelt, etc. A favorite, to be sure, is Granola, with or without dried fruits. And many prefer non-grain muesli – especially ‘Bob’s Red Mill Paleo-Style Muesli’ which is concocted from Coconut, Dried Fruits, Nuts and Seeds … Yum! Want to make your own? Just combine coconut flakes, your favorite nuts and raisins – it’s not bad. And for purists, there is Ezekiel 4:9 right out of the bible, sort of. It is made from sprouted (healthier) grains, including beans, barley, lentils millet and wheat – full of vitamins, —— minerals and antioxidants and usable ‘fuel’ (glucose). And it’s palatable to boot – a win/win!
